A firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1
Noodle
Pick it up and play. There is always a song ready, every key fits it, and one knob gives you a new one.
What it does
A song from one click
Turn ALGORITHM: a new song with its own key, speed, chords, tune and sounds. Some are written by hand, the rest are made on the spot. Turn it back for the ones before. Press GLO to step through the genres, EDIT for another song in the same one.
Keys that always fit
The lower row plays the song's own notes, low to high. The tune lights up on the keys as it plays, so you can copy it.
A band of four
Drums, bass, chords and a lead. Switch each on and off, give each a new sound or something new to play.
Four knobs that matter
BRIGHT, ENERGY, SPACE and SPEED. Each one is heard at once.
Your own tune
Press REC, play, press REC again: your bar loops over the band and follows you to the next song.
Effects while you hold
Repeat, tape stop, reverse, slow motion and a DJ's build-up on the upper keys, for as long as a finger stays down.
ARP
Hold a few keys and they ripple in time with the band.
A real synth underneath
Hold HOME and SAVE: the whole of Felucca, thirteen engines deep, with your song already loaded.

Before you install
@STATUS@Noodle is early. It replaces the firmware on your FM-1, and you install it at your own risk. It is built so that you can always get back:
- Rescue mode. Hold OCT- while you switch the FM-1 on. It then does nothing but wait for an installer: this page's, or any other FM-1 firmware's. If Noodle ever fails to start, it goes there by itself.
- Back to M-VAVE's firmware. The install page puts the official V15 back from M-VAVE's own file.
