Get ready
- This replaces the firmware that is on the FM-1 now. Music and sounds saved by that firmware do not come along: back up what you want to keep with its own tools first.
- It installs over M-VAVE's own V15, firmwares patched from it, Felucca and the firmwares built on it, and Noodle itself. An M-VAVE firmware older than V15 has to be updated to V15 first, with M-VAVE's updater.
- Plug a USB data cable straight into this computer and close other apps that use MIDI.
- It takes about a minute. Keep this tab in front and the cable in until it says done.
Connect
Switch the FM-1 on and press the button. The browser asks to use MIDI: allow it. This step only asks the FM-1 what it runs. Nothing is written.
Install
Ready. From here the FM-1 is written.

Details
Play
- The FM-1 shows a song's name. Press PLAY.
- Play the lower row of keys: every one fits. Turn ALGORITHM for a new song.
- Try the way back now, while all is well: switch the FM-1 off, hold OCT- and switch it on. The screen should say RESCUE, as in the picture. Off and on again leaves it.

If something goes wrong
- It stopped half way. Leave the FM-1 on, plug the cable in again and press Install again. It stays in update mode until an install finishes.
- Noodle does not start, or you want out. Switch the FM-1 off, hold OCT- and switch it on: the screen says RESCUE. Then install from this page, or with another firmware's installer. A Noodle that fails to start goes there by itself.
- Back to M-VAVE's firmware. Return to M-VAVE's own firmware.
- Nothing on the screen at all, and no rescue. The chip's own boot mode is left: in the rescue mode, hold OCT- and OCT+ for five seconds (it also goes there by itself after five minutes without an installer), and see FM-1 Transporter for the tools that write a flash backup back.
